Carissa’s first foray into yoga was during her high school days as a way of keeping fit. She witnessed the transformation power of yoga during University as it established greater strength, flexibility and calmness in her life. Intrigued by what she initially deemed as a workout that helped to restore her mind-body balance, she took up the teacher training course. She continued to broaden her perspective with aerial yoga training.

A firm believer that yoga is for everyone, she strives to nurture an inviting and safe environment in her classes, helping beginners feel comfortable in their practice. Her classes also create space for both personal growth and calmness. She does so by drawing upon movement, breath, meditation and alignment for a safe, mindful and holistic practice. By encouraging students to explore self-awareness beyond poses, she hopes students will develop a mind-body connection
